Ending the nomadic year with a whimper

Smug hazy sunshine icon from Weather Underground

Why a whimper? Highest temperature in Floby Sweden for the 4 weeks I was there: 73 degrees F (23C). Usually however the daily high was in the mid-60s, overcast or raining. Current temperature in Atlanta GA: 96 degrees F (35C) with 100% humidity and a heat advisory in effect:
"A heat advisory means that a period of dangerous heat is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create heat index readings of at least 105 degrees and very warm overnight temperatures. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of direct sunshine... and check up on relatives and neighbors."

Same conditions yesterday afternoon when I cycled 29 miles around the city apartment hunting (today I rode a mere 16 miles to/from work).

However, my suffering may have paid off. If all continues to go well (knock on wood), I will be moving into a 1 bedroom condo, on the top floor of a recently renovated 1920s building, with hard wood floors and a balcony, in the heart of Little Five Points, which puts me less than 100 yards from bars, less than 200 yards from theaters, and easy walking distance to a health food co-op for groceries. Take THAT, NYC! (knock on wood)

And it's not far from Tech! Cool. Good luck on getting the pad.

The weather here was terrific yesterday. It was warm, but not humid. We had some hot and humid days in the last couple of weeks, but that seems to have broken for us.

Can hardly believe it's August already.
